Holy Tired

Levi's birthday is over. I now have a two year old.

This was my first time throwing a party. I spent the entire month browsing etsy & pinterest, and man... I had a vision.

I think (or hope) everyone who attended had a fun time. The photo booth was a big hit and Michael was present via Skype. It all ended in 2 seconds and I never did get a chance to eat. (I'm not even sure I was able to chat with each of the guests.) Hiring a photographer was the best decision of the day. She was incredible. (I can't wait to share photos with you!)

In the midst of the chaos there was one moment I was truly present in - the birthday song. I held Levi while 30 some guests sang and he was tickled pink. In those several seconds we were overwhelmed by the love and goodness of our friends and family. I could have stood there with him for 100 more rounds of it. We are so thankful.

Now, after all the cleanup and hard work is over (who am I kidding) I watch Levi play with his new potato head and helicopter and 50 other toys... and it feels good to be here with my two year old. He just might be the most loved little boy in the whole wide world.

Going Ons

Michael has been deployed for five months now. We're in that middle, mind numbing part of it. Just barely over the hump, but going down. Without momentum. (And no r&r. Since the Army sucks.)

I am planning a humungous birthday party for Levi. And by humungous I mean 25 or 30 guests. Which seems like a lot (to me) (and my checkbook). But holy cow, I'll be damned if this isn't going to be the cutest, funnest, mustache bash ever. And I hired a photographer. Yep.

I also hired a designer to create a logo for Kayla Sue Photography. Baby steps. Except I might take a whole bunch of baby steps at once in the coming months. We'll see.

Next week I start Weight Watchers with my mom, grandma, and aunt. Strength in numbers, right?

I'm still working on Levi's nursery and our master re design. It's been a long process with everything else that's happening. Nothing too fancy, just different. Lots of pretty things. I like pretty things.

I am shooting a barn wedding in May. I am super duper super duper excited (and nervous). Cowboy boots, twinkle lights... I can't wait!

Today was Valentines day. Michael posted the video "She's So High" by Tal Bachman (you know, that 90's song that's really uppety and cute) on my Facebook wall and it made me smile bigger than any chocolates or flowers or romantic dinner would have. I so love that man. Also, I took tulips and ice cream to my grandma and I think it made her year.

Levi is turning two in five days. TWO. And I really need to write a post all about him because you miss his sweet face, don't you? (You should.)

I miss my blog.
